LESSON 4 THEME: To be courageous for Jesus 1. There
have been many times in our lives when we have been cowards and have been
full of fear. Ask them to share. 2. The
apostles also experienced this after Jesus died. John 20:19-23. They were
afraid of the Jews and did not want to be seen by anyone, lest they should be
put to death. 3. At
Pentecost the Holy Spirit comes upon them and their fear changes to boldness
and courage. Acts 2:1-13. 4. At
our Confirmation the Bishop gives us a sign that henceforward God (Jesus)
will be with us, that his power will be with us whenever we need it and
whenever we talk about him to others. This sign will be a visible and audible
sign. 5. Acts
