As
I arrived at 8 pm, I met Clarissa sister and her mother leaving after dropping Clarissa, the
children slowly arriving over the next 30 minutes. Uncle John and some youths
“forgot” the date, so did not turn up. Uncle Harry came after 9 pm with a cake…
Today is Faith Teng’s 15th
Birthday!
Wow!
Any cake? No? I called Aunty Faith…
Faith, can you bring a Birthday cake for Faith’s birthday today?
Too
late I have already arrived, I am down stairs.
OK, never mind, I’ll call Uncle Harry…
Harry, are you feeling all right? (He just came back from Sydney WYD08 and
not feeling very well)
Better
now, what’s up?
Oh, can you bring a birthday cake for Faith later? Today’s is her
15th Birthday.
Sure,
actually there are quite a few birthdays in July…
But today IS Faith’s 15th Birthday, please bring a cake.

Today’s
gathering started with praise, oh no! The Lyrics in the thumb drive brought by
Iain are in DOCX (Vista), Uncle V’s notebook cannot open it…
Hmmm…
How to sing without Lyrics? Try my thumb drive, not there too…
Oh,
I know, how about go to my web site, I have uploaded them all today…

Finally
we started off the praise and singing (with actions) at 8.30pm, with Faith and
Reuben playing the Guitar. Reuben has to borrow my strap as he wanted to stand
and play while Faith plays seated.
After
the singing, we listened to today’s Gospel, read 2 times by Uncle V and again
by Aunty Faith… followed by mediation (Lectio Divina).
Only
then Uncle V discovered new faces among the youths!
So
we let them introduced themselves… name, school, birthday, favourite food,
hobbies etc…

I
suggested that we could have some games in the future, Clarissa said tell some
jokes… here she goes…

2 chicak fighting on the wall, one
fell down what did the chicak on the wall
say to the one that fell down? ….. (chick-chick-chick-chick-chick…) Here
is another one 1 bird was flying in the sky it fell to the ground when the
thunder sounded, why? ….. (the thunder was so loud that it used the
wings to cover its ears!) |

Here

There was a Bus Driver and a Priest.
Both died and went to Heaven.
Jesus met them and welcomed them. He
brought them to their house in Heaven,
First the Bus Driver was given a big
mansion,
Then the Priest was given a small
hut.
The Priest couldn’t understand and
asked Jesus why was he given a small hut while the Bus Driver a big mansion?
…..
(Jesus replied
While on earth, when the Bus Driver was driving,
all the people in the bus were praying.
But when you preach, all the people in the
Church were sleeping!)
Hahaha.
OK,
I think our guests were also interested in knowing the rest of us,
so
each of the children introduced themselves in the same way as before.
Now
it is time to celebrate Birthday.
