NIGHT PRAYERS (
+ O my God, I thank You for all the benefits which I
have ever received from You, and especially this day. Give me light to see what
sins I have committed, and grant me grace to be truly sorry for them.
Examination of
conscience:
“You shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all
your mind, and with all your strength.”
“You shall
love your neighbour as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)
“Whoever
wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” (Matthew
16:24)
I confess
to Almighty God that I have
sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have
done, and in what I have failed to do; and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin, and
all the angels and the saints, to pray for me to the Lord our God.
O my God, because You are so good, I am very sorry
that I have sinned against You and by the help of Your grace I will not sin
again.
Into Your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit;
Lord Jesus, receive my soul. (Luke
23:46)
Holy Mary, be a mother to me.
May our
Blessed Lady,
O my good angel,
whom God has appointed to be my guardian, watch over me during this night.
Angels and Saints of God, pray for me.
+ The Lord bless us and keep us from all evil and bring us to everlasting
life. + May the divine assistance remain always with us and may the souls of the
faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. X
