THE HOLY ROSARY |

The Holy Rosary is composed of twenty decades, each decade consisting of the Our
Father, ten Hail Marys, and the Glory Be, and each being
recited in honour of some mystery in the life of our Lord and of His Blessed
Mother. During each decade we should call to mind the mystery which it is
intended to honour, and pray that we may learn to practise the virtue
specially taught us by that mystery. |

(A plenary indulgence may be gained, under the usual
conditions, for the recitation of the Rosary (5 decades are sufficient) in a
church or public oratory or in the family. If the Rosary is said privately a
partial indulgence may be granted.) |

V In the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. “I Believe in
God… ” “Our
Father”... “Hail Mary”… “Glory be”… |
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the
fires of Hell and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who are in most
need of Thy mercy. Amen.

ROSARY CONCLUDING PRAYER
Let Us
Pray: O God, whose only
begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the
rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these
mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may both
imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ
Our Lord. Amen.
Remember, most
gracious Virgin Mary… (Memorare)
For the
dead, add after each decade:
“Eternal rest grant
unto them O Lord; And let perpetual light shine
upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.”
