The
DMA WOM Visit #3 (4 Dec 2011, 2nd Sunday of Advent)
Thanks to your generosity Jefit and children are very touched by your Xmas presents,
gifts, chicken (ready to eat), cookies, cakes, new and old clothing, plus all
sorts of things… and of course thanks to Cecilia, Eileen, Alice, Anna, Teresa,
Raymond, Jerome, Amy, Paul, Jerome, Mariana, Hilda and many more well-wishers,
we handed over to Jefit RM1,370 in angpows. Jefit decided to use the
money to repair her hut, which the late husband bought for RM4k. The hut is now
in the stage of disintegration, she said needed >2k to repair her “house”.
About 15
DMD people visited JEFIT after the 3 pm Divine Mercy prayers at St Peter’s
Church…
We went in
a convoy to the Sg Apong
Market Car Park, transferred all the presents, gifts, chicken, cakes, food
stuff etc to Cindy’s car. Sr
Annette Kueh followed Cindy car’s which was guided by Jefit’s
elder daughter to her house by a narrow and winding path behind the Shell
Station…. All the rest followed Jefit and her younger
daughter, we walked to her house from the narrow path
by the side of the Temple, quite a long way, negotiating through the squatters
area… Finally we reached the hut. Cindy already arrived.
From
outside the “house” looked OK, but the moment you stepped onto the verandah,
you realized that it is at the verge of collapsing especially the flooring
which is full of holes with weak suupports.
Only one
person can enter the hut at one time. I entered the hut to have a look… the
previous pictures we showed you More
to visualise it was an illusion… I could only walked to the kitchen on
one side of the “room” carefully ensuring there were beams underneath, 80% of
the floor is now full of holes and the supports below had given way. Jefit told me the hut was flooded before…
The floor that was few months ago, now you cannot step on it!
I could only find this Divine Mercy Image hanging
on the wall.
It was
given to her previously by one of our member, I could
only take a picture of it from about 6 feet away as I could not get nearer (due
to weak floor).
Jefit speaks Haka,
I tried to speak Haka, I think
she could understand me, hahaha!
The girls
introduced themselves.
Oh, we’re so happy you come to visit us! “Kam Siah”
The 11
years old boy was not at home, working as “Hui Koong”
(hard labour).
Sr Annette also entered the hut (after I
came out!) and had a look and talked to Jefit. The
girls gave Sister a chair to sit on.
After
passing Jefit all the things and the angpows, we sang some Xmas songs for Jefit
and family.
Before we left, we advised her to remove the
“WHO” on the lintel of the door
We will
give her a Crucifix instead, Shirley will follow-up on this.
Cindy was worried
whether she could find her way back to the main road….
While the
rest of us enjoyed the luxury of Jefit leading us
back to Sg Apong, on foot.
Thanks
Everybody.
