How Beautiful Are The Feet Of
Those Who Bring Good News - Isaiah 52:7
LEAKY
ROOF OVER HER HEAD
Friends,
What do you do this Christmas to share the joy? To remember the Christmas by?
For the last two Christmases, DMA had organised
visits to our “neighbours”, they were very happy to have
visitors like us. All our previous WOM visits are recorded here, have a look http://www.seraphim.my/divinemercy/neighbour/index-neighbour.htm
This Advent, to share
our joy of
Christmas, we will be visiting a neighbour
on the Saturday in the 1st week of Advent (8
Dec 2012, Feast day of Immaculate
Conception) after the Daily DMD. We will leave St Peter’s
Church in a convoy at 3.45pm. (last
year’s Advent, 4/12/11, we visited Jefit Anyir whose house is
not far from Lai)
Join us for the WOM Visit:
Be present at St Peter’s Church by 3:30pm on Saturday 8 Dec
2012. Better still, join us for the 3pm DMD before going to visit her.
She looks forward to our visit:
Life must be a struggle for her to make ends meet with a
minimal income. Though a non-Christian, she looks forward to our visit to her
humble home and it is okay to sing Christmas carols with her and family. Let us
bring Christ's love to her and brighten her days after the loss of her loved
one this Christmas.
Lai Siew Choo, a 54 year-old widow, she has two children
aged 23 yrs and 12 yrs. Her eldest son works as
a delivery assistant with a grocery shop and makes about RM400+ per
month. The youngest boy is studying in Primary six at SK Sg Apong. Her husband
succumbed to cancer last year, 2011 due to exposure to toxic element while
working as a goldsmith.
She is now staying at the family house at Sg Apong resettlement area with
her two children and also an elderly brother-in-law who has epilepsy. She
works part-time packing “ikan bilis” at home and earning a minimal income. She
receives two packets of food aid from the Society
For Kuching Urban Poor (SKUP) daily.
Her urgent need is to get the roof of her house fixed as it
leaks whenever it rains. As she shared her story, her eyes were
teary. She has five siblings and most of them are low-income earners
and have their own families to take care. The only help she wants is for
someone to help her repair the roof of her house. She has been advised to
apply for government welfare aid.
She could be contacted at 016-872-4827/082-487284.
