Josephine Liu Can anybody explains more on laying
hands? We were told by the late Fr. Rufus that we cannot simply lay hands. I'm
quite confuse. Thanks & GBU all.
Sandy
Leong It is true Sis
Josephine. It can be dangerous to lay hands on others for prayer because it is
possible to have a demonic transference from one person to the other. Thus, one
needs to be careful. And to pray for protection of the person
being prayed over and for yourself.
Sandy Leong Got to go now. Bye.
Clive
K J Goh Sandy Leong, Is not about demonic transference. We are God's
children, demon cannot simply harm us(read Job). Unless God allow it to happen, for us to learn something.
For more detail testimony of laying hand and pray over(deliverance
and healing), you can read the 2 books written by Stephen Bong.
Aaron
Wong this laying of hands is
by faith and devotion and can be use by anyone who
believe as we call on the Holy Spirit.... but please note that this is totally
different to a priest's laying of hands which is done 'In persona Christi"
(In the person of Christ) when administering the Sacraments which is by the
authority of Christ vested upon the priest and so can be done only by the
priest...
Michael Hii Ah!,
IN PERSONA CHRISTI, that's the term i was looking for in the earlier post,
PRIESTS represent CHRIST on earth, they can act in the person of Christ, hence
their DIGNITY is higher than the ANGELS, despite the angels have a higher
NATURE.... and thanks to Aaron Wong for
pointing out the difference in laying hands by the priests and by other people.
Pauline
Siong As with other groups,
Stephen Bong's group also train their prayer warriors.
I was with the group for some years since 1990s. Whatever group you are in, it
is wise to follow the advice of your leader, Josephine Liu. Look for your
leader in Emmaus Group which also train prayer
warriors. Pauline is a veteran, and a good one. Fr. Rufus is well-known
internationally.
Pauline
Siong Thanks Aaron Wong, as I
have said before, hope you will come in more often to
share your wisdom.
Jannie Norochin The laying on of hands is not required to heal a person. The
actual act of laying on of hands is not what heals a
person but the power of God does the healing. Whenever possible laying on of hands should be done as an association with the
person whom you are praying for as you are connecting yourself with that person
in need. GBU
Josephine
Liu TQ to all Brothers & Sisters in the Lord. These are the ways to
learn and to know more from you all. It will be more interesting to see more
questions being ask so that we can learn more from
others. Getting a closer relationship with u all is to build my faith in God. Most of all, to get our group growing. Praise & Glory to
You Lord!
Patrick M. Canonigo
Healing .. whether by the laying of hands or
by prayer request through Jesus .. one must have a
relationship with GOD. n A relationship that is
Faithful and believing in Him with all your Love for Him in your heart, your
soul, your mind and your strength. Knowing that GOD is the Truth, The Way, and
the Path! He is always there with you and the promise that he will never leave
you until the end! Through the gift of the Holy Spirit to those that believe in
Christ and His Father, one must confess his/her sins, ask for forgiveness not
only for oneself but for all generations on both side of one's family, then a
prayer to repent, with a prayer to release all curses against one self and
families related. In doing all this, GOD sees and knows that one's purpose is
to be pure in heart and one with GOD to follow His path. John 9:31
We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the
godly person who does his will.
Psalms 34:15
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are
open unto their cry.
Psalm 34:19-20
19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the
LORD delivereth him out of them all.
20He keepeth all his bones:
not one of them is broken.
James 2:17
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by
action, is dead.
Matthew 21:22
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for
in prayer.”
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged
sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it
judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
May our GOD continue to provide us all who is a
believer with the Holy Spirit!
Pauline Siong Patrick M. Canonigo, that is one of the
things the prayer warriors will be taught. That is why one does not simply go
round laying hands.
Patrick
M. Canonigo The LORD wants believers
to learn the word of GOD. This includes healing ... we who believe are taught
to encourage other believers to learn. Romans 15:4
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach
us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the
encouragement they provide we might have hope.
Colossians 2:2
My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and
united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete
understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
1 Thessalonians 4:18
Therefore encourage one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other
up, just as in fact you are doing.
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct,
rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
Titus 1:9
He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it
has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute
those who oppose it.
Titus 2:15
These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke
with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
Philemon 1:7
Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you,
brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.
Hebrews 3:13
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called
“Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
Hebrews 6:18
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in
which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the
hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.
Hebrews 12:5
And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement
that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make
light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
Hebrews 12:14
[ Warning and Encouragement ] Make every effort to live
in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the
Lord.
Exodus 4:12
Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what
to say.”
2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast
to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
This writing was meant to share and encourage all believers as instructed by
the word of GOD. This writing was not to mislead anyone to go about or around
to the process of the "laying of hands" without learning.
I pray that those that are interested in learning how
to heal themselves, their family, and others [who may be believers or
non-believers] will be provided by our Holy Spirit. All this in Jesus name ...
Amen!
Josephine
Liu Amen!
Aaron
Wong When a layperson lay
hands... it is not a blessing... we don't bless... that is for those who has
the authority to do so (e.g priest) instead it is
like a prayer... we pray to God to bless them...
Michael Hii it's
best for us to do what we are called to do best... some are called to do
best in prayers (this is what we do here at DMA), some to the HEALING MINISTRY
(Like Stephen Bong group or a section of the Emmaus Servant Community), some
are rather good at reaching out to LOST/STRAYED SHEEP... some are extremely
good at posting inspirational posts/reflections/sharing here at DMA fb... if we are not sure on LAYING OF HANDS, maybe better
not stretch out your hands but just PRAY HARD in our hearts.
Pauline
Siong Another glimpse of "the light that stream into your
soul" uncle Michael. Thanks. On the worldly side,
I do not have "i- touch" literally, that is.
David

Patrick M. Canonigo Yes Amen! I totally agree Michael Hii .. that it is best for us to do what we are called to do best ... for the Holy Spirit has many gifts ... Thank you for sharing that important message. I really appreciate the sharing of info. May GOD continue to provide all with the blessing of knowledge and understanding through the word of GOD in Jesus name ... Amen.
