A
prophet sings songs about the servant who does God’s will in all things.
Through him, the obedient one, God’s justice and salvation descend upon the
earth:
See,
this is my servant; I support him. He is my chosen one; I love him. I have
given him my Spirit. He proclaims the truth to the nations. He does not yell,
he does not shout, he does not make his voice heard in the streets. He does
not break the crushed reed nor snuff out the dimly burning wick. In fidelity
he brings about justice. He does not tire, he does not break down until he
has established my justice on earth. The farthest islands wait for his
instruction.
